Publication Ethics

The International Conference on Science, Social, and Humanity (ICSSHU) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against any publication malpractices. All authors submitting their works to the ICSSHU for publication as original articles attest that the submitted works represent their authors’ contributions and have not been copied or plagiarized in whole or in part from other works without clear citing.

Responsibilities of Authors:

  • Originality: Authors must ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if the authors have used the work and/or words of others, that this has been appropriately cited.
  • Data Access and Retention: Authors may be asked to provide the raw data in connection with a paper for editorial review, and should be prepared to provide public access to such data.
  • Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication: An author should not publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal of primary publication.
  • Acknowledgment of Sources: Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given.

Responsibilities of Reviewers:

  • Confidentiality: Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents.
  • Objectivity: Review should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate.
  • Disclosure and Conflict of Interest: Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.

Responsibilities of the Editorial Board:

  • Decision on the Publication of Articles: The editor is solely and independently responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published.
  • Fair Play: The editor should evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.
  • Confidentiality: The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.

Misconduct Handling:

  • Identification of Misconduct: Misconduct and unethical behaviour may be identified and brought to the attention of the editor and publisher at any time, by anyone.
  • Investigation: An initial decision should be made by the editor, who should consult with or seek advice from the publisher if necessary. Evidence should be gathered, while avoiding spreading any allegations beyond those who need to know.
  • Outcomes: In cases of proven misconduct involving plagiarism, citation manipulation, and data falsification/fabrication, among others, the ICSSHU will take the appropriate measures, including the publication of a correction, retraction, or expression of concern.

ICSSHU aims to adhere to the guidelines and standards developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure practices meet the highest ethical standards from a global perspective.
